President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, at the plenary on Tuesday, read Buhari’s cover letter on the Electoral Act 2022 (Amendment) Bill, dated February 28, 2022.
On 9th March 2022 Senate Rejects Buhari’s Request To Amend Section 84 (12) In Electoral Act
The section 84 (2) Subsection 12 which states that no political appointee shall be a voting delegate or be voted for at the convention or congress of any political party for the purpose of the nomination of any candidate for an election.
I'm very disappointed at president Muhammed Buhari again for such ugly update
He might have cross examine the script before append his signature on the bill
Why crying ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ and sheding crocodile tear now?
I strongly believe that the Bill would also improve and engender clarity, effectiveness and transparency of the election process, as well as reduce to the barest minimum incidences of acrimony arising from dissatisfied candidates and political parties.
Meanwhile, president Muhammed Buhari through AG Abubakar Malami, today said the executive government has three options, and listed them as seeking a reconsideration, approaching the court, or accepting the law as it is.
I call on everyone most especially youths whose were already address as the leaders of tomorrow to should get ready and fight under one vice, umbrella and same shelter for the betterment of tomorrow.
