I Urge you to Embrace Peaceful Leadership, Avoid Threatening Remarks

The local government chairman is not God and he’s not above mistakes. He can also make mistakes, just like any ordinary person does.
I know nothing about Onoja Danjuma, who was threatened by the incumbent Olamaboro local government chairman, Comrade Comr Ameh Williams, as the video went viral.

If Danjuma, in any way or by any means, tried to pinch him or push him into darkness, it is a bad thing.

And to my chairman, Comr. Ameh Williams: on the other hand, you are my local government chairman and I am your subject. If nobody has told you the truth, I will. I am innocent and not a politician. it is very wrong and dangerous for you to use words like “I will destroy you” or “I’ll bring you down.” Such statements mean a lot, and people can interpret them in different ways.

Even if you don’t intend to harm anyone, once such words come from your mouth, people may believe you are planning evil or even plotting to kill.

Please let your reign be peaceful. Let your regime be remembered as one that the people of Olamaboro enjoyed and not one that failed them—one that stood out in the history of local government administration in Kogi State.

In the video, we heard you saying, “If you are not supporting Ododo or APC…” Remember, supporting a party should not be a do-or-die affair.

If someone wants to support you, let the person come willingly. If they don’t want to support you, let them be. You cannot fight your brothers or your sisters because they refuse to support your political ambition, platform, or your principal office holder.

Remember, before this position, you were one of the most brilliant, intelligent, and well-respected men of Olamaboro.

You will not remain in this position forever. Please, do not allow the blood of the innocent to stain your hands. You have always been known as a peaceful, loving, and diplomatic man.

You have never killed anyone before becoming a local government chairman, and you should not now kill or bring anyone down just to keep your position or grow yourself.

My chairman, remember: a leader is like a dustbin—many will throw dirt on you. But your ability to handle those challenges is what will prove that you are a competent leader.
