A public office is not a place to go and simply enjoy; it is a place of service. Even if you perform well, critics and opponents will still challenge you and call you names.
In my humble submission, you know yourself better than anyone else.
If you cannot condone criticism or withstand critics, it is better to stay away from public office. When the time comes, do not complain that people are insulting you, pulling you down, or dragging you unnecessarily. No matter what you do, people will always talk.
Do not send thugs against anyone. As a public office holder, you are meant to lead, instruct, and serve your people so their needs are met. Critics are there to open your eyes to things you may not see and areas you may not cover. As you prepare to assume the office in 2027, do not attack them.
Just as you are doing your job, they are also doing theirs. Critics are part of governance, just as the government is accountable to critics—both serve important roles.
Once again, if you cannot entertain criticism, do not come out in 2027.
